HELP CENTRE

How can we help?

Step-by-step guides to SBK Connect: how to get started, how to make the most of it as a dancer, and how to manage your activity if you're a teacher, promoter or DJ.

Before anything else, three things to do

This applies to anyone using SBK Connect, dancer or professional.

01 · Create your account and profile

Sign up with email or Google, choose your dance role (leader, follower or both) and complete your location and styles so the community can find you.

02 · Personalise your experience

In Settings you can switch between light and dark theme, change the language, and choose the scope of your notifications (country, region or province).

03 · Look after your privacy

Block anyone you want, decide who can see your profile, and use the report button if something breaks the community guidelines.

FOR DANCERS

Live the dance with SBK Connect

Find your next plan, take part and connect with your community.

Discover events and classes
  1. Open the Events tab to see parties, congresses and classes near you.
  2. Filter by region, province, date, price or style, or use the map to browse by area.
  3. Save your favourites to find them quickly later.
  4. In the Classes tab, find academies and their course offering.
Join an event
  1. Open the event and tap "Going" to join.
  2. Check who else is attending before you go.
  3. If the event has free tickets, you'll find them in My tickets with your entry QR code — show it at the door.
Your profile and your community
  1. Complete your profile: name, city, level, dance role and photo gallery.
  2. Search for and follow other dancers, send requests and check your followers.
  3. Join or create groups related to your styles or your favourite events.
  4. Chat privately one-to-one, or coordinate plans in group chats.
  1. Post photos and moments, and upload stories your community can see for a few days.
  2. Like and comment on other dancers' posts.
  3. The feed also brings together events, academies and news relevant to your area.
Dance Match

Find people compatible with your dancing, based on shared styles, level, location and interests.

  1. Enter your date of birth (required; you must be over 18) to be able to use it.
  2. Set what kind of partner you're looking for — leader, follower or either — which doesn't have to match your own role.
  3. Swipe through the suggested profiles: the system respects your blocks and prioritises your region and province.
  4. You can hide your profile from Dance Match at any time from your settings.
Notifications
  1. Get alerts for messages, followers, requests, group invites and relevant events.
  2. Adjust the geographic scope (country, region or province) from Settings so you don't get notifications that don't interest you.

FOR TEACHERS, PROMOTERS AND DJS

Manage your professional activity

If you're a teacher, promoter or DJ, SBK Connect gives you the same tools to publish your activity and reach your community.

How to get the professional role
  1. Request the professional role (teacher, promoter or DJ) from the app.
  2. The SBK Connect team reviews and approves the request.
  3. Once approved, your account unlocks the professional tools.
Create and edit your events
  1. Publish the event with date, location, price, artists and workshops.
  2. Upload a photo for the event: the app generates the thumbnail automatically, nothing else to do.
  3. Edit the event whenever something changes — the information updates instantly for anyone who saved it.
Claim and manage your academy or venue
  1. Claim your academy or venue's page if it already exists on SBK Connect, or create it if it's new.
  2. Post on its wall: classes, teachers, photos and recent activity.
Tickets and access
  1. Create free tickets for your event from Professional tools → Event tickets.
  2. On the day of the event, use Scan tickets to validate each attendee's QR code at the door.
Promote your event
  1. From Professional tools → Promote, boost your event's visibility in the feed.
  2. The promotion is targeted by location (province, region or nationwide) to reach the right audience.
